Chief Seymour has 28 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Sheriff's Office. He was hired as a custodial deputy in 1987 and after 10 years of working in the jails he moved to patrol operations. He has been assigned to patrol, detectives and Internal Affairs. In 2007 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and has supervised deputies in patrol and investigations. In 2011 he became the Chief Deputy Coroner. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2015 and was assigned to Court Services. He is currently assigned as the Chief of Police in Hughson and manager of the Special Vehicle Operations Unit.
