Business Manager

Dan WirtzDan Wirtz is a graduate of San Diego State University where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting). In July 2006, he accepted the position as the Business Manager with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department. He is responsible for providing financial, budgeting and general accounting support including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, travel services, audits, asset forfeiture accounting, petty cash, grant accounting, contract management, establishing billing rates to provide cost recovery for services, financial forecasting and fund balance monitoring.

Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Department Dan worked as an accountant for Cal Term Inc., Lodi Memorial Hospital, Memorial Medical Center, Modesto. In 1998, he began his career with Stanislaus County as an accountant with Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. In 2001, he promoted to the Finance Manager position with the County’s Health Services Agency and in 2005 he transferred to the Business Manager position for the Stanislaus County Free Library.
